I.
Teacher’s introduction
T: good
morning,students. Today the theme of our lesson is «The outstanding artists of Poltavschyna» (slaid
1). The saying of it is «A picture is a poem without words»(slaid
2).The motor of the lesson is « Be positive, Be prepared, Be respectful, Be responsible»(slaid
3)
II.
Warming up
T: Before we start speaking about painters,
lets review the words on the topic. Look through this
crossword and name the words which you have found in it. Name them and make up sentences with these words and write
them down into your copy-books.

Main part. Working
with pupils’ presentations.
T: you had to prepared at home reports about the famous
artists,our compatriots Catherine Bilokur, Mariya
Bashkirtseva and Mykola
Scheglov.
Lets listen to you and discuss how important in mans life is Art.

Bilokur Catherine Vasulivna (was born November 25 in 1900 in the village of
Bogdanovka, Peryatyn district, Poltava province – died on June 10, 1961) She is
Ukrainian artist, master of folk decorative painting representative of “ naive
Art”.
Her father Vasil Bilokur was a wealthy man, he had2,5 acres of arable land,
kept cattle. Beside Catherine’s was two brother’s – Gregory and Paul in the
family.
At the age of 7. Catherine learned to read. They decided not to give the girl to school to save on clothes and shoes. She began draw starts from the early age, but parents do not approve this occupation and prohibited her to do this.
Catherine continues to draw a secretly from the family using canvas and coals.
In the river Chumhak attempted to drown himself in the autumn of 1934, resulting catch cold feet. After the attempts of the curses father agrees to class daughter drawing.

P2: (slide 6-19 ) Catherine Bilokur as an artist could exist organically with its
paintings in any era. Never went to school, never studied art. In the lost village of Bogdanovka she spent all her
life.Characteristic for Catherine Bilokur are great songs without a specific
plot. The artist carefully copying plants."Flowers on the fence" (1935) -. The way she concludes
harmonizing colors on canvas, reminiscent of music or poetry - plants like
rhyme.In "Flowers and Kalina"
(1940)- background of deep blue, like plants immersed in the evening air,
reminding glasses filled with twilight."Wildflowers"
(1940) - Levada during the morning haze mist. This painting, like many of
her paintings, devoid of prospects real landscape."Lush" (1944-1947 gg.) "Decorative Flowers" (1945) - is feeling the heat,
the waves which "rock" flowers, solar wind, hovering canvas.
P6: (slide 20-22)I want to add that resently ukrainian disiner Iryna
Pasichnyk have made a new collection of clothes and gifts dedicated to
Catherine Bilokur. Look through this collection.

23-35) Maria
Baskirtseva was born on 24 November 1858 not far from Poltava Dycanka region
hutir Havronsi in the family of a local leder of the nobility of Constantine
Baskirtsev and Maria Babanina. She`s a French artist ukrainian birth. Mary`s childhood
passed in the village Chernyakhovka. After the divorce, mather takes Mary,
which at that time was twelve years old to Europe: Vienna ,
Baden-Baden , Geneva . Twelve years before the death, Mary
leads in the French language personal diary (105 copybooks) who later became
famous and repeatedly translated into many languages including on Russian.
Maria studied painting at the Academy Julian are of the few such academy to
admit women. Last years was seriosly ill in tuberculos. At the same time (1884)
is known for her correspondence with Gi de Maupassant and close acquaintance
with the famous French painter Bastien Lepage. Maria Bashkirtseva died of
tuberculosis at age 25 years. Buriel in Paris at
the cemetery of Passy . Maupassant, visiting her grave
said: "It was the only rose in my life, whose way I am pour out like
roses, knowing, that it will be so bright and so short"
P4: (slide 24,30)Luxemburg and French museums bought some Maria’s
works. Some other works, for example ‘Meeting’, are exhibited in Louvre. Her
works have got awards of different French exhibitions and were appreciated by
popular European artists. In 1889 the exhibition of Maria’s works was held
in Amsterdam .
It was organized by Dutch artists. In general, Maria was talented in
everything: painting, literature, had a beautiful voice and spoke the different
languages. Furthermore she was of noble origin and beautiful.
P6: In France
there is a monument to 8-th famous young people among them the only ukrainian -
Mariya Bashkirtseva. The name of monument is "Immortality".
P5: (slide 33-44)Shcheglov
was born on October 22, 1920
in Shuya. In some circumstances, they had to move.
Shcheglov finished a high school perfectly in Samara. He entered the Leningrad
Academy of Arts in 1941. From the Academy he went right to the front. He was
injured seriously on the war. After demobilization he returned to Samara. He
graduated from the Teacher Training Instutite. He tought painting and drawing
in high school.He developed his own method of teaching. He tought the children
walking their weekly trips and drawing. Many students had become professional
artists, more than twenty of them recived the Union of Artists. He had been
working for 37 years as a theacher.Exhibitions his works held throughout Ukraine . His
style is similar to the style of the founders of landscape painting - the old
Dutch masters. The artist painted nature landscapes, sun land of our country.In
1977, he was retiring and his wife moved to the Kremenchug . He died in March 4, 2005.
T: Well, I see you worked very hard,thenk you for your work, I give you
high marks. And now I give the word to
our young painters, which will tell us about their hobby.
P7: One of my hobbies is pencil drawing. Ever since
childhood I like drawing and doing it in my free time. A couple of years ago I
tried to draw a portrait and I enjoyed it very much. Since then I drew a lot of
different portraits. Including portraits of friends and well-known
personalities. I like drawing and I want to continue to do this but have no desire
to become a professional artist. ( shows his works)
P8: In my free time I like to draw. I draw all my
life landscapes and potraits. I take part in various drawing
competitions. My pictures have taken
the first place this year. Most of all I
like to create paper decorations. My works convey my mood and emotions.

T:You have
told many interesting
things about our artists and we have seen their beautiful pictures.Lets
practice in describing of some pictures in our class exhibition. Every group
must choose one of them and describe it.

VI.Summing
up
P4:
Summing up the lesson I want to add that art and nation are inseparable.
Artists are inspired by national culture, but their works are able to make the
entire world speaking about this nation. And I’m proud of being
living in Poltava
region, where were born so much outstanding artists.
T: Dear
children, you have coped with all the tasks very well. All of you were well-prepared
and active. I enjoy your work at the lesson. And I am sure you have had good
practice. In edition I want to tell I believe
that our young generation will be
positive, will be respectful and responsible and we will proud of you. We must
proud of our Ukrainian artists, scientists, politics, teachers etc. Let’s
